Wonders of the Wild
A celebration of wildlife, legacy and quiet impact
Last week, Their Majesties The King and Queen hosted Wonders of the Wild – a magnificent gala evening held in support of Elephant Family, the conservation charity founded by the late Mark Shand. Held at Lancaster House, this extraordinary event brought together a passionate community of conservationists, creatives, and philanthropists to celebrate a shared commitment to protecting Asia’s wildlife and the communities who live alongside it.

It was a profound honour for us at Patrick Mavros to once again be part of this meaningful occasion. As artists deeply inspired by the wild, we were privileged to create the Mark Shand Award – a sterling silver sculpture of an Indian elephant bull, cow, and calf, set on a wood and silver base – in tribute to Elephant Family’s visionary founder. The award was presented by Her Majesty The Queen and celebrated a legacy of enduring impact.
Patrick Mavros Snr attended in person, representing our family and studio at this incredible gathering – an event that seamlessly intertwined art, storytelling, and conservation. Adding to the moment, His Majesty The King was seen wearing our specially designed Elephant Lapel Pin – a small but symbolic piece crafted in support of Elephant Family’s noble cause.
